Last year our friend Eric picked up a new-to-him 350Z with an LS swap to use as a dedicated drift car while his s-chassis’ take a break from catching on fire. At least weeks Spec-D open practice at Stratotech however, the new car decided to join its Nissan brethren in his garage as it blew a power steering line upon initiation, went a bit off course, and then had to get towed back home. Nice.
It wasn’t all bad news though, as Rick was able to make it out last minute in his 1JZ swapped 240SX. You may remember that the transmission didn’t want to be a transmission anymore at last years Stratobash event, thus a G-Force GSR dogbox transmission that was sourced earlier in the season was finally installed over the winter. Rick had literally just got the car back together the night prior sans some aero bits but was able to at least get it running and out for the first shakedown of the year. Sadly we won’t be competing in this years Spec-D Pro Series due to multiple schedule conflicts, but I’m sure you’ll still be seeing plenty of that car on the blog in the coming months.
That being said, you can catch Ricks car in the RA Motorsports booth at this weekends Rev Up show at the Edmonton Expo Center. See you all there and remember to avoid fences.
