The weather here has been rather finicky lately, quickly going from +30°C without a cloud in sight to thunderstorms all day. As a result it can be a little tricky when it comes to planning any sort of outdoor event, as the participants of round four of DMS Time Trials StratoCross quickly found out last night. A wet track is unfortunate but is par the course when it comes to motorsports, but unreasonably strong winds meant that Mother Nature would be giving everyone time penalties with cones being blown to infinity and beyond. It was unfortunate, but with some quick thinking and a revision of the original autocross layout, the event eventually still carried on, albeit almost a couple hours late.
Oh well, that’s just how it goes sometimes.
