Hello everyone and welcome to the 2025 car season which we are kicking off again with Noob School. Organized by DMS Race Events, this is an entry level event for newcomers of motorsport to get their feet wet on track in a safe environment designed specifically for learning, with plenty of experienced drivers on hand to help instruct anyone in need. After the success of the initial two Noob School events last year, it was basically a no brainer to bring it back this season.
Unlike your typical track event, Noob School is much more relaxed as we take the time to walk newbies through the basics of both tracking and autocross, starting the evening off with a track walk and explaining how the cone system works (pro tip: don’t hit them). From there, everyone hops in their cars for a couple parade laps behind a pace vehicle through the autocross course followed by two more parade laps through the “track sprint” layout where no cones are present to give them a taste of what an open circuit is like. After that, participants are free to do as many practice runs for the night as they’d like with instructors constantly hoping in and out of everyone’s cars to give them as many pointers as they can to help them improve.
It’s always a great time watching everyone get excited and also learn at the same time, and it was also great to see SO many people who have never set foot on a circuit before come out to give this wonderful (and expensive) hobby a try. If you missed out and are interested in attending an event such as this, no worries! You can always sign up for both the StratoCross and StratoAttack events as they are still open to beginners and offer a safe environment where you can push the limits of both your car and yourself with minimal risk. I hope to see some of the participants from Noob School at these future events!
