These days when it comes to the car scene I find myself involved primarily in motorsports, but let’s rewind the clock a decade for a bit before all I did was track days, autocross, and the occasional drifting. While I was still doing track days back then, car shows were also a large part of my summer agenda with my circle of friends prepping our cars to loiter around and get ogled by total strangers for a day.
To be honest it wasn’t that bad and was actually a lot of fun to do every once in a while with the guys, but over time our focus’ have shifted more towards driving instead of “showing”. That being said, there is still one aftermarket car show that I still look forward to each year, and that is Rev Up Edmonton, held at none other than the Edmonton Expo Center which is prime real estate for a car show. Basically, this is the show to be at; good cars, good people, and an overall good time. Let’s dig in and take a look at what this years’ marvelous show had to offer.
As usual I was on hand supporting the RA Motorsports team with their booth showcasing a variety of different vehicles and products, all made in-house right here in Edmonton of course.
Matt’s Colorado which is quite the contrast to…
…the little car we had right up front, Warren’s immaculate Mini.
This car is not only extremely clean with lots of attention to detail, but always manages to put a smile on everyone’s face. Thanks Warren for bringing it out to the show!
A car we haven’t seen on the site in a while is Eric’s S15, a nice and simple build showcasing how sometimes less is more.
Of course we brought out the RA86 for everyone to try again which is always a hit. I hope you all enjoyed getting some laps in!
Lito’s super clean 240SX vert looking period correct on BBS RS’.
Never seen this AE86 before but it is very neato looking especially with those Hayashi Racing wheels.
One of my favourites from the show was this early 2000’s looking BNR32, complete with chrome Bee*R B5 wheels and wing.
The engine bay matched the interior for spiciness too which was lovely to see.
Boss man Carlo’s M3 sitting pretty in the corner.
Mercari Auto’s HKS widebody GR86.
Another immaculate build completed by the boys over at S60R. Li sure knows his Miata’s!
Charlie’s S2000 looking much more aggressive with the Voltex front end.
Derrick’s FR-S taking a break from track duties but still looks super aggressive even when sitting still.
MKIV Supra sitting on MKV Supra wheels which I think matches the car very well, not to mention those giant calipers up front.
Glad to see David’s Z not leaking a puddle of fuel this time.
Vernon’s S2000 with Voltex aero.
Nick’s hawkeye STi also with the Voltex aero treatment.
Ex-R1 Titan TAS demo car sitting pretty in the First Gear booth.
Leo’s GR86 sporting all kinds of JDM goodies including a full Voltex widebody kit, HKS supercharger, Volk Racing TE37’s, Endless brakes, Bride seats, and Vertex steering wheel, just to name a few.
John’s Supra looking rather clean without any decals compared to previous years.
As always Invision Auto had the full line of Bride racing seats on display for people to try out…
…along with a very special and rare Racing Miku Zeta IV on display.
As always I’d like to say a big thank you to the Rev Up team for organizing such a wonderful event, and of course to everyone that came out to enjoy the show as it is never possible without all of you. I hope you all enjoyed what we had to showcase at this years’ show.
Oh yeah Matt also somehow managed to cram an entire Honda Odyssey (not the minivan) into the back of his truck.
Until next time!
