Needless to say, this was quite the dramatic lapping event; in fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many breakdowns at a single track event before. Blown motors, electrical issues, melted brake lines, fly by blow-kisses, and lost pizza boys (yes you read those last two correctly); you name it and this night probably had it. No matter, the usual suspects and I made our way over to Castrol Raceway for another night of motorsports fun for ASA’s first lapping event of the season.

These events are always a lot more relaxed than a full track day, and since we have to help marshal for other run groups, it also allows me to shoot from some parts of that track that I otherwise wouldn’t have access to. Also there’s a new stand up at turn eight which is a pretty good vantage point to spectate from.
