If you’ve been following me you’ve probably noticed that I love cars. I love looking at them, working on them, driving them, and of course, photographing them.
And if you’ve ever been to Vancouver, you’ve probably also noticed that the locals too love their cars. In fact, UBC alone has the most amount of supercars owned by students than any other post-secondary institution in North America.
So what about the rest of the Vancouver area? Well I’m about to show you a quick example yet again!
We kick off with this CSX sporting a full J’s Racing kit spotted in Aberdeen Centre’s parkade. It was really refreshing to see this as we pretty much only see CTR converted CSX’s here in Alberta.
This RSX on the other hand has been given the full JDM DC5R exterior treatment; still not a bad thing!
Some of you YVR locals may know this car to have previously been wrapped in blue! Looks like the owner’s decided to go back to the OEM paint for now.
The only Supra I spotted on this trip and it’s from Washington too!
It doesn’t take a whole lot to make the FRS/BRZ’s look much better than they already do.
Don’t see a whole lot of FG2 Civics around that have been done up to this extreme but this one is looking good!
I’m not very familiar with domestic classic cars…
…but this one sitting outside Marine Garage in Steveston was seriously OG. I approve.
Full matte-black C63 AMG also looking pretty gangster.
Rarely ever see Mazda 3’s modified but I was digging the front bumper on this one.
Stumbled upon a random shop on a side road that had a bunch of 911’s and a few Benz’s chilling outside. Awesome.
A subtle looking STi in the neighborhood.
Also in the neighborhood was this absolutely slammed Civic Sedan.
Without a doubt the Maserati Gran Turismo will always be one of my all-time favourites. These things just look and sound so sinister!
I have never seen an X6 so decked out before. Only in Vancouver.
You may have also noticed by now that there’s no snow on the ground at all. Of course this means that all the supercars come out to play!
I’m going to change things up a bit here as I decided to visit a couple dealerships this time around…
…but these were definitely not your ordinary dealerships! Welcome to Lamborghini Of Vancouver, which, coincidently, is also home to Buggati Vancouver (unfortunately there were no Bugatti’s on hand that day).
I’ll start off with the very first car that was in front of me after I walked through the front doors. Without a doubt, the Aventador is one serious machine.
I love everything about this car, but perhaps my favourite thing is how the car spits flames out of the exhaust WHILE driving, not just when letting off the accelerator.
Did I also mention that there’s a roadster version available? Tunnel blasting just got a million times better!
Unfortunately I have to agree with Top Gear when they say that the new Huracan doesn’t have that possess the “lunacy” that Lambo’s of old have.
Now I haven’t driven the car so I am only basing this solely on looks. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very pretty looking car, but it looks too tame, too “functional”. Like James May had said, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with “a super car that just works”, but I’m sure many of you will agree with me when I say Lamborghini’s should always look mad and out of control; the best “bedroom wall poster” if you will. After all, their emblem has always been the raging bull.
…there was this Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo present. This is a factory prepped race car and has been built to compete in the Super Trofeo North America race series with Cardel Racing.
Now we’ve seen a few race cars in action before ,but this is my first time getting up close and personal with a real racing car.
Some of you may have also noticed that on the front of the car as well as on the rear wing that it reads “Lamborghini Calgary”. That’s right, Alberta is getting its very first Lamborghini dealership!
While Lamborghini is going to be tough to top, right across the street is yet another legendary automaker: McLaren.
This is probably one of the smallest dealerships I’ve ever been to but for obvious reasons.
McLaren’s lineup is fairly small, but if you’re reading this you probably already know that their cars pack quite the punch!
They had a couple 650S’ in the showroom that day, one being a coupe and the other being the ever so beautiful spyder variant.
Compared to the big Lambo’s that I just saw minutes ago, the McLaren’s are much more subtle in appearance but everything has been designed the way it has been for a reason on these cars.
To finish things off I’d just like to say a special thanks to the staff at both Lamborghini and McLaren of Vancouver for letting me roam freely in the showrooms and letting me take all the pictures I want (Lamborghini was actually having a private event going on but still let me in). You guys are awesome!
