I’ll admit it, just like a lot of young teens who watched the Japanese anime (or read the manga) Nana, I was instantly hooked.
The amazing story aside though, there was one other aspect from the Nana world that I was undoubtedly attracted to; Vivienne Westwood.
While originally starting with clothing design, Vivienne Westwood has since expanded her creations to everything from jewelry to lighters, all adorned with the iconic “orb” symbol.
LaMode, located in downtown Vancouver, happens to be Vivienne Westwood’s biggest retailer here in Western Canada, so I knew that I had to drop by and take a look.
I have never seen so much Vivienne Westwood in one place before, and thankfully the friendly staff here didn’t mind me taking some pictures!
LaMode is also a retailer for other “hard-to-find” brands such a Hoss Intropia, WILDFOX, Duffy, and much more, but we all know what I was really here to see.
Vivienne Westwood is a bit of a rarity here in Alberta, with no retailers for the British brand whatsoever.
Their website also isn’t the easiest place to order from either, making it even harder to get pretty much anything from their catalogue. Pretty much everyone I know who’s tried has failed (you’ll have to try it for yourself to know what I mean).
In fact my very own Vivienne Westwood Armour Ring had to come out of Hong Kong and also happened to be the very last one left in the city!
Even the hangers have the logo plastered all over them. Awesome.
Not only is the quality of all Vivienne Westwood items top notch, but there is a lot of attention to detail that goes into each design, and it really shows.
While the orb logo is found on everything…
…it’s definitely not always the center of attention!
A special thanks to the staff at LaMode for letting me take all the pictures that I wanted; they’re a super friendly and helpful bunch! If you’re looking to add to your Vivienne Westwood collection, or even just get it started, make sure you drop by next time you’re in the area!
